Who we are...

 
There are many Republican Blogs out there, so the first question we are always asked is "What makes us different from the rest?"  Well, we believe that our Country should be put above our Party.  We are all Republicans, however, we do not accept the mantra that you must always follow your Party's platform.  There is room for all types of Republicans.  The most important cause for AmericanTusk.com is debate amongst Republicans.  Just like our Country has been strengthened by different opinions, so shall our Party become stronger by intellectually discussing our principles and ideas.

Both Republicans and Democrats have allowed the more extremist parts of their Parties to take over an unprecedented amount of power.  We want to see our Party return to our core principles of less government.  We want to be the party of Capitalism, of Democracy, and of Personal Freedom once more.  There is room in our party for ultra-conservatives as well as moderates.  It is our belief that we can unify and grow stronger as a Party and as a Nation.  The following are some of our values which we believe should be at the core of the Republican Party.
  
Our Nation before our Party;
American energy benefits and protects Americans, NOT foreign oil;
Diversity is something to be celebrated and a firm belief that ALL Men are created equal;
A commitment to fiscal prudence and limited government;
Lower taxes promote growth;
A belief that the nation does have international responsibilities, however, protection of the United States comes first;
A belief that God and religion have a very important place in America and should not be erased from our societyA belief that the national government should be used in a limited manner to advance the common good;
The Second Amendment is crucial to a Free State, and we should be wary of any politician who wishes to disarm us;
In regards to crime, Victim's rights should not be placed underneath the Criminal's rights. True Republicans have a duty to vote against the party line when it doesn't serve the greater good. Doing so doesn't make them less Republican; it demonstrates that they have the honor, political courage, and intellectual honesty to put their Nation above their Party.
